Lincoln Memorial (#3527)

I took this picture shortly after sunset in November 2025 in Washington DC. I love how the night photography with Reflecting Pool worked out. As you zoom your eyes (and/or the picture) towards Lincoln, he is very clear despite the distance. I also enjoyed the reverse view (see other shot) of the Capitol and Washington Monument which was taken by simply turning around.

Washington Monument (#3569)

This is the "reverse" image taken by turning around from the photo of the Lincoln Memorial. For me, the colors, shadows and reflecting just after sunset make it a great image.

New Orleans Courtyard (#6180)

During a November 2025 visit to New Orleans, I poked the lens of my camera through the slats of the house gate to capture three images in varying degrees of light exposure. I then combined the images to capture this well-balanced view of a beautiful courtyard with its shadowy hallway.

French Quarter Night Shot (#6108)

Despite the fact that it was a Wednesday night, the French Quarter in New Orleans had a nice mix of visitors and party-goers. I must have looked out of place with my camera - but, who cares!

French Quarter T-shirt Shop (#6115)

In New Orleans, the French Quarter is filled with T-shirt shops with interesting messages. This one caught my eye and the colors came out so nicely. I actually have a "set of four" of this same image where I played with colors, black & white and shutter speed.

French Quarter Performer (#6097)

In New Orleans, the French Quarter has many street performers. This one was standing on his head for at least 25 minutes as I gave him some money, composed some pictures and eventually walked off. I hope he gets back on his feet soon.

French Quarter Cafe du Monde (#6055)

In New Orleans, the French Quarter is home to Cafe du Monde and a terrific doughnut called a Beignet. Hot and covered in powdered sugar - it's delicious.
