Macro and Close-up

Officially a Macro Photograph is high-magnification, close-up photograph where the subject's projection on the sensor is at least life-size, a ratio of 1:1 or greater. I use a Nikon Z MC 105 mm S macro lens for most of my macro photographs. To avoid any purist discussions, some of the photos in this category are not officially macro photos. But, If my intention was a very closeup picture and its result was great, I include it here. In addition, some of these pictures are taken using focus stacking. With this technique, multiple pictures are taken using different focus points and then combined for the result.

The images displayed in thumbnails online are not high resolution but upon purchase these images will be sent to your as high resolution images.

In addition, only a partial view of the thumbnail  images is displayed online. However the images you receive upon purchase are high resolution images.

Small Mushroom in Grass (#6328)

When I took this picture in my backyard, my initial intention was to capture the small mushroom growing after some rain. The mushroom was less than an inch tall. As I started taking shots, three flies landed on the mushroom. Perhaps they were laying eggs on the mushroom or perhaps the males were fertilizing the females eggs.
