Gray Catbird (#9164)

I took this picture in August 2024 at Huntley Meadows in Alexandria, VA. It is a Gray Catbird. This bird really sounds like a cat!

Hooded Merganser (#4067)

Hooded Mergansers are small ducks with a thin bill and a fan-shaped, collapsible crest that makes the head look oversized and oblong. They are a species of fish-eating duck in the subfamily Anatinae. This is a male merganser.

Yellow Crowned Night Heron Juvenile (#1057)

This Juvenile Yellow Crowned Night Heron picture was taken at Huntley Meadows in July 2025. It was exciting to add this elegant bird to my "life list". In this picture I also enjoyed the tree branches and spider webs!
