Barn Swallow (#0319)
I took this picture in July 2025 at Huntley Meadows in Alexandria, VA. It is a Barn Swallow. When in flight this bird is very difficult to photograph. But this fellow, with a bug in its mouth, posed for me and allowed me access.

Gray Catbird (#9164)
I took this picture in August 2024 at Huntley Meadows in Alexandria, VA. It is a Gray Catbird. This bird really sounds like a cat!

Ring Billed Gull (#6454)
The Seagull here was taken in the Outer Banks North Carolina.

Hooded Merganser (#4067)
Hooded Mergansers are small ducks with a thin bill and a fan-shaped, collapsible crest that makes the head look oversized and oblong. They are a species of fish-eating duck in the subfamily Anatinae. This is a male merganser.

Indigo Bunting (#9281)
The Indigo Bunting is an unbelievable color! This one is taking flight.

Limpkin (#5651)
While on a swamp tour in Slidell, LA, there were many Limpkin. This was exciting since it was a new species for me on my birding journey.

Eastern Meadowlark (#9833)
This Eastern Meadowlark was singing its heart out in Shrewsbury, PA.

Great Blue Heron (w/fish) (#0603)
This Great Blue Heron has a little snack in its mouth as it throws it back into its gullet! The photo was taken at Turner Pond in Paris, VA in August 2025.

Yellow Crowned Night Heron Juvenile (#1057)
This Juvenile Yellow Crowned Night Heron picture was taken at Huntley Meadows in July 2025. It was exciting to add this elegant bird to my "life list". In this picture I also enjoyed the tree branches and spider webs!

Mallards Male and Female (#1792)
I don't typically take "more" pictures of Mallards because I have so many! But, these two were relaxing together and the light was so nice. Taken at a Loudoun County Park call Hal and Bernie's.

Great Blue Heron (#5687)
I Stalked this GBH three times. Each time it flew away. But this photo shows motion, which I liked! Loudoun County, VA Reservoir Park.

Cedar Waxwing (#5610)
I went out to the Reservoir Park in Loudoun County on a frigid day. I found these Cedar Waxwings and they were regal!

Hermit Thrush (#2069)
This Hermit Thrush was photogenic at a Fairfax Park called Ellanor Lawrence Park.
