Small Mushroom in Grass
When I took this picture in my backyard, my initial intention was to capture the small mushroom growing after some rain. The mushroom was less than an inch tall. As I started taking shots, three flies landed on the mushroom. Perhaps they were laying eggs on the mushroom or perhaps the males were fertilizing the females eggs.
Choose your framing
Aspect ratio dictates how the image is framed and displayed.
Pick the ratios that suit your walls — every package includes three.
Most popular
01
4:5 (8 × 10, 16 × 20)
One of the most popular fine-art ratios. It closely matches the format of large-format film cameras and translates beautifully into substantial, eye-catching wall art.
Minimal
04
1:1 (Square)
Often utilized for its strong, deliberate composition. It is a staple in fine-art minimalism and is highly popularized by Instagram.
Versatile
02
3:2 (12 × 18, 20 × 30)
This mirrors classic 35mm film and is the native ratio of most full- frame and APS-C digital cameras. It offers a versatile, slightly elongated rectangle perfect for general scenes.
Immersive
05
Panoramic (2:1 or 3:1)
Used almost exclusively for wide-angle landscape and architectural photography to immerse the viewer in the scene.
Gallery standard
03
5:4 (8 × 10, 16 × 20)
Traditionally used in large-format photography (like 4 × 5 or 8 × 10). It is widely used for portraiture and gallery exhibits.
To ensure true gallery quality, GalleryByMichael works to prepare your files properly for printing.
In an aspect ratio that works! Whenever possible the images are cropped and saved in high-quality JPEGs at 300 dots per inch (DPI). In some cases, it’s perfectly acceptable to produce large format art with a lower DPI.
If you know the room or location that you want to display your selected picture, please indicate your favorite aspect ratios in your order. GalleryByMichael will try to provide the desired formats.
